Our children, like most, love snacking on crisps and sweet things. However their hands down favourite snack is a fresh, chilled cucumber, peeled in stripes to make it look pretty (their request, not mine),lightly rubbed in sea-salt and jammed down on a chopstick. Quick, cheap, easy, ever so healthy and requested more than any other snack…..Sometimes I wonder if they really are my kids.Right, off to find some chocolate.

Deb and Mick’s smalls also love their cucumber. Favourite lunch is “bits and bobs”. A healthy assortment of salad, cheese and sometimes ham. Of course, as Deb, Jonathan and Matthew had, a few sweets after the evening meal are also very welcome! Not sure about the salt on cucumber, ours do not have access to this. Xxxx

Good point about the salt; I only add it due to to extreme heat as it helps to prevent dehydration. So the salt is a “seasonal extra”,as it were, lol.
