Oh,the joys of being part of a bi-cultural family.Just had the following conversation with the girls in the car on the way home from picking Millie up from daycare:
Me: Oh,bugger,I forgot to get milk.
Annie: Mummy,you aren’t allowed to say “bakka”.
* “Bakka” is a Japanese word meaning “idiot” or “stupid” .
Me: No no,I didn’t say “bakka”,I said “Bugger”……oh bugger……
Emilie: What’s “bugger”?
Me: It’s an English word and you aren’t allowed to say it anyway, so just forget I said it.
Annie: Bugger,bakka.bugger,bakka….
Emilie: Buggerbuggerbuggerbugger…..
Me: Oh shit,what have I done?
Kids: Oh shit,what have I done?
Me: Oh god….
Kids: Oh god,shit,bugger………..
I shall be having a beer tonight.Cheers.

Reminds me of my Grade 11 Science speech when I accidently said ‘shit’ because I forgot what I was supposed to be talking about. It kind of went like this…”shit… oh shit I said shit. Oh f*ck I said shit. Oh shit I said f*ck…” while the whole class were laughing their heads off at me. The teacher at the end of my speech complemented me on a job well done but told me if he ever hears those words out of my mouth again I will be getting a detention, lol!

My first reply was deleted by mistake by me when I was reading your latest to your Mum. She is without e.mail as computer is playing up. I am trying to persuade her to get an iPad when she is with you as I hope they are cheaper in Japan. Back to your blog, we laughed so much, Sid though it should be in a play. You sound as if you are getting better, do hope so. Loved the photo of Millie greeting Annie on her return from the week away. Off to see the development of the new Walton bridge. As for being in a play,it has already been done,but in a film; Love Actually,in a scene when the new Prime Minister meets his staff at No 10,and a young woman gets so flustered that she starts swearing.Must say that yesterdays little conversation reminded me very much of that;).
